Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American singer and actress whose dramatic range earned her popular acclaim in a variety of genres ranging from period drama to thrillers and action. Johansson was raised in New York City as the daughter of an architect, and also an executive from a production firm. She was the twin sister of Hunter and she were her youngest siblings. At a very young age, she developed a passion for acting. She began performing in commercials by the age seven. After a short time, she began studying with the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Later on there was a Professional Children's School was opened in Manhattan. Johansson made her debut a film actress in North (1994) at the age of nine. She was just eight when she was a part of Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson was later seen as a character in Just Cause, but she made her debut with Manny & Lo, a film about siblings left behind by their parents who flee. The film received praise for her performance as a teenage girl who been injured in a horrific accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) and gained more attention for her role as the cynical teenage who is a solitary Rebecca In Ghost World (2001).
