Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn is an American film television and theatre actress. A gifted thespian she has been active professionally from over the past 27 years. She made her acting debut on stage during an off-Broadway production of The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley in the year 1990. In the following year she was offered her first television role, The Perfect Tribute. When she played as a support character in the film Basic Instinct Her career began to take off. It was in the movie The Firm however that she got the role of leading female character for the first time, and this was also against actors like Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s, she worked alongside some of the most renowned actors in the business, including Gwyneth Paltrow on Sliding Doors, Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews in Relative Values. In recent times, she played Dr. Alex Blake (a police procedural-crime drama) in Criminal Minds.
